Seared Ahi Tuna

Ingredients:

2-3 Ahi Tuna Steaks (fresh sushi grade)

Niecy’s Original Blend

2 limes

1 bunch of cilantro, minced

1/4 of a red onion, minced

2 fresh garlic cloves, minced

Olive oil

Flaky salt

Directions:

30 mins prior to cooking, cover Ahi Tuna in Niecy’s Original Blend, olive oil, one minced garlic clove, and the juice of one lime.

Cover tightly and place in fridge.

To make chimichurri:

In a small bowl, add juice of one lime, one minced garlic, minced cilantro, minced red onion, a few shakes of Niecy’s Original Blend, a pinch of flaky salt, and 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir and set aside.

After 30 minutes, remove Ahi Tuna from fridge and in a large cast iron skillet, coat with olive oil and set temp to high.

Once hot, add Ahi Tuna and cook for 1 minute on each side.

Remove immediately from cast iron so it doesn’t over cook.

Slice in 1/4 inch slices and serve with chimichurri sauce on top and cut limes.

My thoughts:

This Ahi Tuna is so good and the citrusy chimichurri on top just makes it so much better! Niecy’s is made with cilantro, garlic, onion, cumin, chili, sea salt, and black pepper. It adds depth and flavor to the tuna. The trick is to let it marinate for at least 30 minutes prior to cooking. I hope you love it as much I do!
